Noatun 3.0's SVN branch named "make-it-snow" is currently undergoing development. We are working on improving the plugin system, and also making extreme changes to the playlist API. Plugin-developers are encouraged to provide feedback on the kde-multimedia mailing list. |
Friday, Oct 22rd 2004 00:39 CEST: Noatun Library Documentation updated |
Noatun API documentation just got a facelift. It now looks like normal KDE API references, which is much more appealing than the rather old-fashioned doxygen default. You can now browse both Noatun 2.6 (KDE 3.3) documentation as well as a bleeding edge (CVS) reference. Additionally a tarball of CVS docs is now available: http://metz.gehn.net/files/noatun-apidocs.tar.bz2 |

After a long time the ultimate Noatun plugin ever is back: FloodCast. It works with latest Noatun from KDE 3.2 and now also features forwarding your currently played music to whatever Icecast/Shoutcast server you want (libshout needed). More information and the revived plugin is available at http://metz.gehn.net.A project description with all supported and planned features will follow later, for now all you get is the sourcecode (but hey, isn't that a lot already?). |

Saturday, May 24 2003 @ 15:13 CEST: New Site Design |

Finally, this is the new noatun.kde.org site, I hope you like it. We now look like any other kde.org site, hopefully making the whole thing easier to use and look more up-to-date. Other interesting changes include:

Sunday, September 15 @ 20:01 PDT: No, We're Not Still Alive! |
The primary reason nothing is happening here at noatun.kde.org is that we noatun developers consider noatun so close to completion it's not worth discussing. You might also notice that noatun API documentation is really super. [Ahem] I hope this serves as enough of a hint for you to get coding your own plugins! |
Friday, May 24 @ 21:45 PDT: Yes, We're Still Alive! |
I know I havn't published any new articles lately. Nor added the new poll. However, rest assured that we are still developing Noatun. |
Monday, February 18 @ 01:50 PST: New Software: Flood 0.0.0 |
Winamp Skin-Loader developer Ryan Cumming recently announced the release of an early version of his plugin, Flood, a web based interface to Noatun. This plugin requires a recent CVS snapshot of Noatun. KDE Beta2 will not work. Quoting directly from his announcement: Flood is a simple web interface plugin for Noatun.

Wednesday, February 13 @ 11:52 PST: KDE 3.0 beta2 -- RELEASED! |
Unless you've been living under a rock, or have been coding all day, you know that KDE 3.0beta2 is out. Check out the changelog, and the tarballs at the KDE web site. |
Wednesday, December 19 @ 00:52 PST: Film Off! (whatever that means...) |
The German Linux Magazine LinuxUser says good things about Noatun in this nice (german) article. Perhaps referring to the Babel Fish berzetzer for an amusing translation is in order? (It's actually surprisingly good this time... :) Then they continue to say good things about AviFile's DivX abilities. An aRts plugin for DiVX ;-) exists here that enables noatun to play DiVX as well! My favorite phrase is "Hinter dem Eintrag Young Hickory verbergen sich Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten". It contains not only an unexpected insertion of "Young Hickory", but also includes one of those famed german mega-words. |
Monday, November 26 @ 15:48 PST: New Software: Linux Kernel-Level aRts Driver |
I've recently completed a kernel module that simulates and OSS driver, but forwards the audio to aRts. |
Wednesday, October 24 @ 15:30 PDT: State of the Noatun |
This is a post I just made to kde-multimedia and kde-devel. It generally happens before each major release of KDE. This one is leading up to KDE 3.0. |
Thursday, October 11 @ 00:21 PDT: New Software: ModPlug 1.1 Released |
With so many new features, it boggles the mind. |
Sunday, October 07 @ 14:42 PDT: K-Jöfol & Kaiman Skins for Noatun! |
The new kde-look.org appears to have K-Jöfol and Kaiman skins. |
